The books of 1 and 2 Corinthians reveal a vast array of issues in Corinth, ranging from divisive ideologies to resurrection. This edited volume features an intercultural reading of the Corinthian correspondence from the diverse cultural perspectives/contexts of the contributors -- Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the United States. We are reminded that our life journey is not a solitary one. We can learn from the Corinthian struggle -- the yearning for a just world and a meaningful existence in it. I hope this volume will invite Christian readers everywhere to critically reengage in the Corinthian correspondence so that the good news of God would be reinterpreted and enlivened in our day so as to benefit all -- the creation of God.
About the Author
Yung Suk Kim is Associate Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity at Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, in Richmond, Virginia. He is the author of several books: "Christ's Body in Corinth: The Politics of a Metaphor" (2008); "A Theological Introduction to Paul's Letters: Exploring a Threefold Theology of Paul" (2011); "Biblical Interpretation: Theory, Process, and Criteria" (2013); "A Transformative Reading of the Bible: Explorations of Holistic Human Transformation" (2013); "Truth, Testimony, and Transformation: A New Reading of the "I Am" Sayings of Jesus in the Fourth Gospel." He is the editor of the Journal of Bible and Human Transformation.
